Rivian has unlocked all exterior and interior options for its new R2 mid-size electric SUV. The online configurator now includes Forest Green and Borealis purple exterior colors, with Forest Green priced at $1,500 and Borealis purple at $2,000. These additions expand the customization possibilities for buyers, with Borealis purple being particularly notable as one of the most striking options available.
The Coastal Cloud Signature interior is also available for an additional $1,000. This lighter interior option offers a more open and airy feel compared to the standard Black Crater Signature interior, which is more serious and restrained. Rivian said it’s still durable for every adventure, thanks to the second-generation Advantex material that can be wiped down after messy drives.
The R2 is available in several exterior colors, including Glacier White ($1,000), Half Moon Grey ($1,500), Midnight black ($2,000), Catalina Cove blue ($2,000), and Launch Green ($2,000). The Esker Silver color remains the standard option. Forest Green, inspired by the play of light and shadow in a forest canopy, features a metallic flake that mimics the way leaves catch light, adding a unique visual depth to the vehicle.
Forest Green is available on the Performance, Premium, and Standard Long Range R2s, while Borealis purple is reserved for the top-spec Performance model. The Coastal Cloud Signature interior is only available on the Premium and Performance versions, ensuring that buyers of these trims can enjoy both style and functionality.
The Rivian R2 Performance Launch Edition, the only model currently shipping, starts at $59,485. It features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup with 656 horsepower and an EPA-estimated 330 miles of range. The Launch Edition also includes the Tow Package, a Launch key fob, and lifetime access to Rivian’s Autonomy+ advanced driver assistance platform.
The Premium trim, available later this year from $55,485, offers the same 330 miles of range but with 450 horsepower. Customers will need to pay extra for the Tow Package and Autonomy+. The Standard Rear-Wheel Drive model, starting at $46,485, will begin production next summer with an estimated 275 miles of range and 350 horsepower.
Rivian’s expansion of R2 options comes as the company prepares to scale production and introduce more affordable trims. With the Premium and Standard models set to launch later this year and next spring, respectively, customers will have more choices to fit their needs and preferences.
