EVgo has opened the largest non-Tesla EV fast charging station in the City of Los Angeles, featuring 18 plugs that can deliver up to 350 kW of power. The new station, located on S Robertson Blvd, offers a total of 10 stalls and 20 plugs, making it a significant addition to the city’s EV charging infrastructure.
The station’s capabilities are notable, but what’s also interesting is that it still offers support for the CHAdeMO connector, a type of charge port used by older EVs like the Nissan Leaf and some Japanese-made plug-in hybrids.
This means that owners of older EVs, which can now be purchased at relatively low prices on the used market, can still access fast charging services at the new station. The two CHAdeMO ports can deliver up to 100 kW, while the remaining 18 cables offer CCS connectors.
Charging Capabilities
The power levels at the station are distributed across different stalls, with two 100-kilowatt stalls, three 200-kW stalls, and five 350-kW stalls. This variety of charging options should help reduce wait times and make the station more efficient.

It’s worth noting that the station does not have NACS cables, but this is not a significant issue, as NACS-equipped EVs can use charging adapters with CCS chargers. However, using a CHAdeMO adapter on a CCS station is not recommended due to the high cost.
EVgo’s Expansion Efforts
EVgo is one of the few companies that have started installing Tesla Superchargers, which can deliver up to 500 kW at 1,000 volts. These stations are integrated into the Tesla in-app navigation system, making it easier for Tesla owners to find and use them.
According to the Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center, EVgo currently operates 1,175 EV fast charging stations in the U.S., with a total of 5,185 individual ports available to the public. Most stations offer Plug & Charge functionality, which allows users to start charging automatically after plugging in.
Convenient Location
The new Los Angeles station is located just off the Santa Monica Freeway in the Mid-City neighborhood, making it easily accessible to drivers. The station is within walking distance of several restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping options, allowing drivers to plug in and grab a meal or run errands while they charge.
