Mercedes-Benz is set to launch the 2028 Mercedes-Benz GLA next year, offering both a hybrid and a fully electric version as part of its entry‑level crossover lineup.
Powertrain options and performance specs
The hybrid model pairs a 1.5 L turbocharged four‑cylinder engine with a 48‑volt system and an eight‑speed automatic transmission. It can run on electric power alone under certain conditions, though the 1.3 kWh battery limits pure‑electric range compared with typical plug‑in hybrids.
For the electric lineup, the GLA 250+ will be rear‑wheel drive and produce 268 horsepower, while the GLA 350 4MATIC delivers 349 horsepower with all‑wheel drive. Additional features include ambient cabin lighting, multiple seating and upholstery choices, and an optional glass roof whose opacity can be adjusted with a button.
